Kuru
The story unfolds inside a driving school car, parked in a desolate area far from the city. Sofia, a young driving student, grips the steering wheel nervously. Her only encounters with violence have been through her mobile screen. Today’s lesson takes a strange turn as her instructor, Ms. Ramirez, directs her to this remote location. As Sofia practices driving, a disheveled vagrant approaches, causing her to panic. Ms. Ramirez steps out to confront him, and a scuffle reverie. Sofia locks the doors, terrified, as the vagrant lunges at the car.
Ms. Ramirez fends off the vagrant and orders Sofia to drive away. Relieved but shaken, Sofia obeys. As they head back, Ms. Ramirez’s neighbor shifts, and she begins asking invasive questions about Sofia’s personal life and her fears. Suddenly, Ms. Ramirez instructs Sofia to pull over on another deserted road. Sofia complies, growing more uneasy. Ms. Ramirez reveals she orchestrated the entire situation to test Sofia’s reactions under pressure. Horrified, Sofia confronts her. Ms. Ramirez explains she believes people must be prepared for hidden dangers and uses extreme methods to test them. Realizing she’s been manipulated, Sofia’s fear of her turns into determination. She uses her driving skills to escape, speeding towards the safety of the city lights, vowing never to let anyone exploit her fear of her again.
